The course offers an introduction to business administration for students from other disciplines.
In order to provide insights into the broad spectrum of business administration, central concepts from the various functional focuses of business administration are explained, important instruments are presented and a connection to current practical challenges of established larger companies and young start-ups is shown.
The main topics addressed include:
- general basics of business administration (terms, legal forms, etc.) and instruments for structuring and solving single- and multi-level problems in business administration,
- Overview of instruments of marketing,
- Basics of production management (process optimization and inventory planning),
- Elements of organizational design (structure and process) and personnel management,
- Basics of financing and capital budgeting as well as
- Basic knowledge in accounting and controlling.
